AKS is excited to welcome three respected Southern Oregon firms into our growing team: Construction Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC), CSA Planning, Ltd. (CSA), and Marquess & Associates, Inc. (MAI). This collaboration strengthens our ability to serve clients in the region while honoring the legacy and expertise these companies bring.
On November 1, 2025, these well-established Medford-based firms officially joined the AKS team, bringing AKS into a community we’ve been actively working with for several years. Together, we’re expanding the range of services available to clients, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical engineering, and special inspections. For CEC, CSA, and MAI, this partnership means access to additional resources and the full suite of services AKS traditionally offers—creating new opportunities for collaboration and client success.
About Our New Partners
Construction Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC)
Founded in 1993, CEC provides full service civil engineering for urban infrastructure projects in Southern Oregon. Their portfolio includes master-planned community design, public infrastructure design, modeling, hydraulic studies, and floodplain management. Led by Tony Bakke and Mark Kamrath, CEC brings seven talented employees to our collective team.
CSA Planning, Ltd. (CSA)
With 45 years of experience, CSA provides land use planning and consulting services to private and public clients throughout Oregon. They specialize in complex entitlement and planning issues. CSA has extensive experience in solid waste entitlements; aggregate and mining entitlements; development permitting for industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional uses; urban growth boundary (UGB) amendments; and Goal Exceptions to Oregon Statewide Planning Goals. They also have strong geographic information systems (GIS) capabilities to expand AKS’ GIS resources. Their team, led by Jay Harland and Raul Woerner, includes nine highly qualified professionals.
Marquess & Associates, Inc. (MAI)
Established in 1957, MAI serves both private and public clients in Southern Oregon. Over 80 percent of their revenue comes from repeat business, a testament to their reputation for quality and responsiveness. In addition to civil engineering, MAI offers structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering, along with special inspections and construction materials testing. Their team of 21 professionals is led by Robert Gunter, Jim Higday, and Juan Moreira.
Looking Ahead
All three companies will continue operating under their current names as AKS companies until they relocate to a single Medford office in 2026, where they will join forces under the AKS name. This move is about collaboration and creating a unified space for our teams—not reducing staff or changing the personalized service clients have come to expect.
