AKS is providing civil engineering and permitting services for playground surface improvements at 16 school sites in Vancouver. Wood chips in playground fall zones are being replaced with SofTILE DuraSAFE™ rubber tiles, and stormwater facilities are being redesigned to accommodate the tiles. AKS’ assessment of the playgrounds and stormwater facilities includes surveying, designing construction documents, and providing permitting support and coordination as well as construction administration. AKS is coordinating with Vancouver Public Schools, the City of Vancouver, Clark County, and Educational Service District 112 on this project.
