Working as a subconsultant, AKS provided forestry services for the A to Z Stewardship Environmental Assessment Project for the U.S. Forest Service that encompassed 33,110 acres of timberland within the Colville National Forest. AKS’ field crews established p-lines in the field, assessed existing roadway conditions, and provided conceptual cost estimates for the realignment of 1,300 feet of a main road and 13 miles of heavy road reconstruction. The logging system and temporary transportation system layout totaled approximately 20 miles and focused on improving the general health of the forest.
